Fantastic work - although the term "sportive" sounds a little bit too much for me just now. All in good time though! :)

Sheesh, that is a whole lot of bandwidth! (I found out at the weekend that a friend who used to work for Virgin assigned his flat a 20MB connection with single user contention... I was very jealous needless to say)

I know what you mean. That extra delay before the brakes bite can add that extra bit of excitement when meeting a 4x4 coming the other way up a narrow lane!

I just had an exciting encounter with a bollard on the way home this evening. At the bottom of a steep (and I mean steep) hill there's a little hump-backed bridge with a pair of chunky wooden bollards in front of it. I came in a bit hot, hit a slick patch of soggy leaves and managed to briefly lock the back wheel. Wobbled my way to a halt by collapsing into one of the bollards. Zero points for style there. But don't worry, I managed to dump most of my momentum with my left arm against the bollard so the bike's fine. Phew.

I don't know. I'm finding it too easy to lock the back wheel on this bike, and I can also accidentally slide the back out on a tight turn. Didn't used to do that on OB. Maybe a combination of more powerful brakes and lighter total weight. The tyres are pretty much the same. I need to move more of the braking effort to the front I think. Stay tuned to find out when I manage to throw myself into a hedge...

I got caught in a sudden storm about a mile away from home a couple of nights ago - total madness, the rain was bouncing back up off the road. Had my first experience of "ooh these brakes aren't quite so effective now"... No spills thankfully though!

Thanks Rob! I managed to take the bike out yesterday, even though it's not 'perfect' now. Still loved it.

Isn't Wordpress a breeze? I should have done this years ago...

Cheers,
Steve.

Hi Steve, glad to hear about your bit of "bike joy" too, although gutted that you've got to wait for a new shifter now!

Glad my little bit of bogging made it onto your horizon - bike and blog envy too, you flatter me!

Happy Riding!
